Licences

ChronoLator is licensed software. You can evaluate its features without having a licence, but the Chronology Documents it creates include a watermark on every page. If you do not want these watermarks to appear, you must purchase a Licence for the Online Workbench or a Single Case Licence.

Terminology: The Online Workbench is used to create Chronology Documents in which agencies enter their data. Single Case Licences apply to Chronology Documents created by Berrick Computing for customers who do not anticipate regular use of ChronoLator and who therefore do not require the flexibility provided by the Online Workbench.

Licence periods

Online Workbench licences are valid for a period agreed on purchase.
Chronology Documents created by an Online Workbench licensee are licensed for four months from the date they are created.
Chronology Documents created under the terms of a Single Case Licence are valid for a period agreed on purchase.

What happens when a licence expires?

You can continue to work with documents using the standard features of Microsoft Word™, but ChronoLator features are disabled.

We recognise that deadlines can sometimes slip, so ChronoLator Document licences which have expired in the previous 90 days can easily be extended for 30 days without payment and without having to contact Berrick Computing.

What does a licence cost?

How do I install an Online Workbench licence?

The licence is a small file. To install it, just copy it into the same folder as the Online Workbench.
